INVITATION TO A DEDICATION CEREMONY AT THE WASHINGTON TRADES & LABOR BUILDING:  SAT. NOV. 8, 2025 AT 2PM

The Washington Greene Central Labor Council has invited our local to a Dedication Ceremony in Honor of the Washington Trades & Labor Building recently being named an official Historical Landmark by the Washington County Historical Society.  There will be some brief remarks, the hanging of a Landmark designation plaque, and light refreshments after.  We hope you will join us as we help mark this milestone.  Click flyer below to enlarge or CLICK HERE to download.

HALLOWEEN TRUNK OR TREAT FOR CANONSBURG HOSPITAL

It was a great night for a great cause as our local took part in the annual "Halloweeen Trunk or Treat" event to benefit Canonsburg Hospital.  Thanks to everyone who helped to make this fundraiser such a big success! View photos below:

DC RALLY TO ENFORCE HEALTH & SAFETY FOR WORKERS

Last week, we were proud to join some of our Steelworker siblings out of the USW Legislative Action Office in Washington DC, for a rally organized  by the National Black Lung Association and United Mineworkers, which was held in front of the US Department of Labor.  For decades, workers and our allies in the labor movement have been fighting for stricter health and safety rules, specifically regarding silica dust.  Those protections were finally passed and expected to take effect earlier this year.  Unfortunately, they are still not being enforced by our lawmakers, and in the meantime an increasing number of mineworkers, steelworkers, and laborers across multiple industries are getting sick and dying after being exposed to toxic levels of silica. We are calling on our leaders to enforce these rules now and start protecting people over corporate profits.  Check out some of our pics below:

The Education Department is proud to present "Teaching Tuesdays" as a series of classes that USW members can attend from the comfort of their homes.

​

All classes are held at either 11 a.m. or 8 p.m. EST, so if you are interested in attending one of the classes please click on the time that you can attend. Sessions run for 90 minutes.

 

All stewards training classes will be held on the first Tuesday of each month.

​

We will be using Zoom to host each session. You can create a Zoom account and/or download the software here.
